Guide Services
David has over 25 years of experience guiding guests, clients, and adventurers in Maine.
He has learned so much over the years and continues to gain experience that makes each trip better than the last.
In addition to David, Maine Path and Paddle Guides has added a few select guides to either join David to share the guide duties or in some cases guide your trip. These guides have been selected because they know the river and share the same guide and wilderness ethics that has made Maine Path & Paddle Guides a leader in Maine river tripping.
MPPG has years of using and testing gear, we know what works, we use high quality, durable, and dependable equipment.
Along with the gear we provide assistance, skills training, and tips on how to use and make the most of each item of gear used on our trips. Special emphasis is placed on:
Water Safety
- River Rescue
- River Reading
- Paddle Strokes
- Poling
- Lining
- Canoe Packing and Trim

MPPG has the leadership experience
to guide you and your family on a Maine outdoor
adventure vacation. We understand the responsibility
that you entrust in us by hiring us to lead you into the
Maine woods.
The North Maine Woods are spectacular; we will provide you with the leadership, skills, equipment and access to get the most out of your Maine wilderness paddling experience....
About Our Cooking
You will be WOWed by our cooking! We are all about fine camp meals catered to your menu desires. Over the years we have perfected our campfire culinary skills. Before the trip you will review the menu and make any changes that you'd like, this is especially important for children and teen clients. Many of our meals are cooked right over the fire, on the grill, on our giant frying pans, or in our camp oven. Though you may not expect it, our meals are made from fresh ingredients; from our garden or locally grown when possible. We take pride in our ability to satisfy your hungry appetite with fine gourmet camp fare. It is just what you will need after a good day on the water! Click here to check out our sample menu
Firsts Aid
In the wilderness first aid can be critical. Our registration forms allow you to provide your health and medical history that provides important information necessary to address medical emergencies in remote settings. We want to know about allergies; asthma; diabetes; heart conditions; medications; and your general fitness. We need this information for each member of your family or group. David completed the Wilderness Medical Associates
Wilderness First Aid course.
David re-certifies every 3 years to stay current.
